Art contest winners for the 8th annual GISD Christmas card design contest are announced!

 

GHS 12th grade student Karina Hernandez won first place overall at campus and district level and her art was used to create the cover of the annual Christmas card.

 

GJH 8th grade student Olivia Perez placed second at district level and first at campus level and her art is on the inside cover of the card.

Additional campus winning art designs displayed on the back of the card were created by Melanie Calderon (5th grade), Ray Delgado (2nd grade), and Carlos Garcia (1st grade).

 

This fall, students at all grade levels were invited to participate in the 2023 District Christmas card art contest. Under the guidance of the art teachers, hundreds of students entered art into the contest. The art was reviewed at the campus level, and the top designs from each campus were then judged by a district level committee. One student at each campus was determined the winner for that campus and all five card designs were used to create the 2023 GISD Christmas card. The winning students received a keepsake certificate as well as small gifts and goodies from some of our local community partners!
