Commencement Travel and Parking Tips
- Guests carpooling as much as possible is strongly encouraged.
- Allow for extra time to park and walk some distance from your car to your ceremony. About half of graduation parking spaces require about a 10-minute walk to reach the Coliseum.
- Don't rely on your GPS to direct you to graduation parking at UNT. Instead, plan to take the North Texas Boulevard Exit to access campus from I-35.
- Follow signage and the instructions of the officers you encounter when you arrive on campus.
- Parking on campus will not require a permit during the high school/NCTC graduations but handicapped parking and no parking in fire lanes will be enforced.
- Graduates and guests will park in Lot 20 across North Texas Boulevard from the Coliseum until it is full and then will be directed to other nearby lots.
- Attendees with mobility issues, or who would have problems walking up to 10 minutes on a hot day, should park in our Accessible parking just north of the Coliseum.
- Graduates should park in the west side of Lot 20 to allow family and guests to park on the north and east sides of the lot. Graduates can easily access the west side of Lot 20 by entering the lot from the I-35E service road.
- The drop-off point for graduates or guests is located on the north side of the Coliseum along Highland Street and can be reached via North Texas Boulevard.
- Guests should enter campus via North Texas Boulevard off of I-35E and park in Lot 20, which is west of the Coliseum. Guests should only use Highland Street to access the drop-off location or accessible parking in Lots 26 and 27.
- Accessible parking will be in Lots 26 and 27 along Highland Street. Follow the signs to be directed to the first available accessible parking spaces. Accessible parking includes handicapped parking as well as parking for guests or graduates with mobility limitations or who cannot walk for 10 minutes. Parking lot attendants will not check for handicapped placards and will not turn drivers away from parking in the Accessible lot.
