Steven Ross Brammer

Steve Brammer is a 1970 graduate of Gainesville High School. Steve was very active at GHS. He was the school photographer and worked on the yearbook committee, sang in the mixed select choir and graduated Salutatorian of his class. He attended SMU and then transferred to UTA where he earned his BS, MS and PhD in Electrical Engineering. He was in several honor fraternities and was named Outstanding Electrical Engineering Student in the USA for 1974. He was nominated for a Rhodes Scholarship in 1975.

Upon graduation from UTA in 1978, Steve went to work for a consulting firm in Houston. He worked there for 18 years, then decided to leave the corporate world. So in 1995, he and wife, Nancy (class of '72) opened Brammer's Athletic WearHouse in Katy, Tx. He opened a second business, BAW Athletic Wear, in 1997.

Today, the 2 businesses employee about 60 people. According to those who know him, Steve is a great husband and a super Dad to Matt and Beth, and a fun PopPop to Gavin, Garrison, Blakely and Smith. Steve is also a successful marathon runner having won his age group in the New York City marathon and participated in the Boston Marathon 3 times.
