• STAAR Results Now Online

    Attention Parents: STAAR scores are now available through the Texas Assessment Management System. 1. Click on the link below and then click on "Log In To Student Portal." 2. Click on "Lookup Access Code." 3. You will then be asked to type in your child's PEIMS ID, which is your child's Social Security Number. This will result give you the access code for your student. 4. Go back to previous scrreen and enter the access code to retrieve the results of each of your child's STAAR tests. http://texasassessment.com/

  • STEAM Academy

    In May of 2017, Gainesville ISD was provisionally approved as a T-STEM Academy for the 2017-2018 school year. The Gainesville STEAM Academy will also incorporate the Arts into the Academy. For the first year, GISD will target grades 6-9 and will add an additional grade level each year over the next three years to reach the full potential of a 6-12 STEAM Academy.   • Secondary Teacher of the Year

    John Fletcher was named the 2016-17 Gainesville ISD Secondary Teacher of the Year. Fletcher, a GHS graduate, jumped at the opportunity to return to his hometown to teach and coach five years ago.   • Enrollment Opens for New Pre-K Program

    Gainesville ISD is now enrolling 3 and 4 year old Pre-Kindergarten students for the 2017-18 school year. The tuition-based program will be an addition to the current Pre-K program, which is for 4 year old students who qualify for free Pre-K according to the state income guidelines. READ MORE...

  • Retirement Celebration

    On Thursday, GISD celebrated the retirement of 11 educators, who dedicated an incredible 305 years of combined experience to education. An even more astounding fact is that 260 of these years have been to Gainesville ISD. To top it all, EIGHT of the 11 retirees have spent their ENTIRE career in education at GISD. Wow! They are sure to be missed! Feel free to comment with the impact any one of these educators made on your life, as they each have affected so many GISD teachers, students, and the community.   • Summer Meal Program

    Gainesville ISD is once again sponsoring the Summer Feed program for children living in the Gainesville community. Children need nutritious meals to learn, grown and thrive-even when school is out. With the Summer Food Service Program, children and teens ages 18 and younger can continue to eat healthy throughout the summer at no cost, just by showing up to one of the participating meal sites. Beginning June 5, breakfast and lunch will be served Monday through Friday at both Gainesville Junior High and Edison Elementary.   • Lee & GJHS Students Earn High School Credit

    A total of 153 students were tested, and an incredible 64 of these students earned high school Spanish credit through the credit-by-examination testing process. Student testing resulted in 21 students earning Spanish 1 credit, 16 students earning Spanish 1 & 2 credit, and 27 students earning Spanish 1, 2, and 3 credit. In the 27 students receiving credit for all three levels of Spanish, four were in 5th grade, seven were in 6th grade, seven in 7th grade, and nine were in 8th grade.

  • Ayala Completes Region 11 Mentor Program

    Lee Intermediate 5th grade math teacher, Claudia Ayala, has completed the 2016-17 Math and Science Teacher Mentor program through ESC Region 11. The Texas Regional Collaborative grant provides funding for math and science classroom teachers to receive 100 hours of research-based professional development, and Ms. Ayala has completed the yearlong program, improving her mathematics content knowledge in order to increase student achievement across the district!   • GISD Launches Two-Way Dual Language Academy

GISD is implementing a Dual Language Two-Way program beginning the 2017-2018 school year for Pre-K, K, and 1st grade students.   • GISD Meets State Accountability Standard

    GISD is able to report that each campus within the district has achieved Met Standard, the highest rating schools can earn on the state’s accountability system, and the district as a whole exceeded targets in all four indexes.
