The Brashers live in the community of Gainesville for many reasons. Soon after graduating from MSU, Dr. Brasher became the Chillicothe High School science teacher and was fortunate to be the assistant coach for both the boys and girls high school athletic programs.  After two years Dr. Brasher then took a teaching and coaching position with Shallowater Independent School District.  While teaching and coaching in Shallowater Dr. Brasher attended Texas Tech University and pursued a Masters in Educational Leadership.  While serving Shallowater ISD for four years Dr. Brasher completed his Master’s Degree in 1999.  After graduation Dr. Brasher accepted the position as High School Principal with the Anton Independent School District.  After several years with AISD, Dr. Brasher was given the opportunity to become the middle school principal in the 4A district of Levelland.  While Dr. Brasher served as Middle School Principal in Levelland he attended Texas Tech University and completed their superintendent program in the fall of 2004.  After receiving superintendent certification Dr. Brasher and his family moved to San Angelo in order to serve as superintendent of the Veribest Independent School District.  Dr. Brasher then moved to the 2A District of Brady ISD and served as their superintendent for three years.  Having the opportunity to move closer to home Dr. Brasher accepted the position as superintendent of Gainesville ISD in 2011.
