Coach James Polk

Coach James Polk graduated from Everman High School where he participated in the varsity athletic program for 4 years. In high school he was all-district, area, region, and state in multiple sports. In 1995 he was a member of the Texas Class 4A State Championship Track Team. In college he was a two sport athlete competing in baseball and football on some outstanding teams graduating in 2001. Upon graduation Polk was hired by Kennedale as a teacher/coach; he spent 10 years coaching several sports under Athletic Director Richard Barrett. In 2004, he was the coach of the Texas Class 3A State Champions Track Team.  In his 10 seasons Polk was an offensive coordinator, head girls/boys track coach and head powerlifting. "Coach Barrett really molded and taught me how to be an overall athletic director not just a football athletic director", Polk said. In 2012 Polk was hired at Snyder and in 2014 took over full responsibility as Athletic Director. Coach Polk is married to Brittenie and has two daughters Landrie and Bristol.

Coach Brad Weese

Coach Brad Weese graduated from Frenship High school where he participated in the varsity athletic program for three years. He graduated from Texas Tech University August of 2008 with a degree in History with an emphasis on Social Studies. There he completed his student teaching at Ed Irons Middle School where he volunteered for the girls athletic program.  Upon graduation Weese was hired on at Monterey High School as an Assistant Varsity coach and head freshmen girls coach. He spent five years at Monterey where he was under the direction of former All American and Olympian Jill Schneider as one of her assistants and ended his time there as the head J.V. Girls Coach. “I was so thankful for the time I had under the tutelage of Coach Schneider and the opportunity to coach the bountiful talent that Monterey had to offer.”  In 2014 Weese was hired as the Girls’ Coordinator and Head Girls Basketball Coach at Snyder ISD under the direction of James Polk. During his turn at Snyder Coach Weese gained valuable experience and aided in many girls programs success. Coach Weese hails from a family of educators as well as an impressive lineage of basketball coaches. His mother Cindy Weese is a retired teacher from Frenship ISD with over 30 years of service and his brother Jason Weese has made a Regional Finals appearance leading the helm at The Colony High School and is now the Head Girls Basketball Coach at The Woodlands College Park. Brad’s father Linden Weese was former Lady Raider Assistant coach, former Women’s Head Basketball Coach at Eastern New Mexico University and presently is the girls coordinator and Head Girls’ Basketball Coach at Lubbock Roosevelt High School. Coach Weese has a dynamic personality and enthusiasm for coach and teaching. He is looking forward to being part of the growth and continuing at Gainesville ISD.
