Autism ServicesGainesville ISD serves the needs of the students that meet eligibility criteria of a student with Autism Spectrum Disorder. These students are serviced throughout the district in many different settings. Educational plans and services are individualized to meet the needs of each student.Autism EvaluationGISD utilizes the Autism Team approach for the evaluation process. Our team members consists of the following Special Education staff:- Licensed Specialist in School Psychology
- Speech Language Pathologist
- Educational Diagnostician
- Occupational Therapist
The school team members have special training in the assessment and diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder. The evaluations are scheduled with the parents. Classroom observations, teacher interviews, and any outside reports are important information that is reviewed by the team during the evaluation process.For additional information, contact the Special Education office at (940) 612-0730Parent SupportAutism ChatsAutism Chat nights are scheduled meetings that take place during the school year to provide parents with information and support. Each Autism Chat topic is based on parents needs. Additional topics maybe added to the Chats based on specific topics. Please be sure to fill out the Autism Chat Questionnaire and return it to your child's teacher so that we are able to prepare materials needed to help support your areas of concern.
